The Race to Restrict our Human Rights

We want to share with you an open letter sent to the Honourable Mark Furey, Nova Scotia Minister of Justice. The letter was sent from Dave Kent, President of People First Nova Scotia, and Kory Earle, President of People First of Canada.  The letter is about the recent Law Amendment Committee presentations around the new Adult Capacity and Decision-making Act in Nova Scotia.

Dave Kent and several other groups and individuals presented objections to the new act on Monday. But the Act passed second reading anyway.

The letter expresses the disappointment felt by People First members in Nova Scotia, and by our national members. We are hoping to meet with the Minister before the Act is finalized.
